In 1986 work started on the new section of the underground railway in Milan (lot 1PB). The 335-metre section comprises 218 metres of double-track line tunnel 8.80 metres wide; 22 metres of double-track line tunnel and two side access tunnels each 2.60 metres wide, and an underground station consisting of a tunnel 93 metres long and 17.40 metres wide.
